$600,000. That's the hammer on Bring a Trailer Lot #266,374, a 12k-mile 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider with the gated six-speed, sold Friday, October 2. Winner RocAutoMuse took it after 29 bids.

When we published this listing on October 1, the car was bid to $280,000 with no reserve and one day left. The final jump more than doubled that mid-auction mark. Clean read: the open gate still moves the needle.

Why the gate matters

The F430 was one of the last Ferraris you could order with a gated six-speed manual. Most buyers picked the F1 paddle-shift gearbox, which makes three-pedal cars the minority, and the market prices them that way. Enthusiasts pay for the open gate, the click of the shifter, and the fact that Maranello never really came back to it.

This example: Rosso Corsa over Nero, Canadian-market car imported to the US in 2026, Challenge wheels, carbon interior trim, clean Carfax, dealer sale out of Scottsdale with no reserve.

Stick-shift Friday

Same afternoon as the gated Murcielago LP640 conversion, which hammered at $780,000. Two no-reserve gated results, one day. Manual exotic money is not cooling off.
